Using CiviCRM modules in Drupal
July 28, 2009, 09:11:14 pm
Is there any way to use CiviCRM modules (for example the WYSIWYG editor) in Drupal, so that I don't have to install CiviCRM which includes these modules and the modules by themselves for use in other parts of the site?

CiviCRM uses TinyMCE and FckEditor as WYSIWYG editors, so if you want it in drupal, you can install respective modules for Drupal. You don't need to install CiviCRM for that.

When I first read this post I interpreted as per Kurund's reply but after re-reading I realised that what you mean is that you have installed CiviCRM and you want to use TinyMCE or FckEditor for other parts of your Drupal site and are wondering whether you can leverage the instances installed as part of CiviCRM.

My feeling is that you probably can't do it without quite a lot of work and there would be very little return on your effort.
