Where do I go to set the url for opOut? - {action.optOutUrl}
July 30, 2009, 06:42:27 am
Civiccrm generally working nicely. Time has come to send our first newsletter, but we are struggling with the proper use of the required tokens. The {action.optOut} token produces an non-working email link. The {action.optOutURL} is producing a non-functioning link to the backend.

We want to send user to a specific page in our website when s/he choose to OptOut from the {action.optOutUrl}. in our email footer, but I can't seem to find a way to set this up.

All suggestions appreciated!!!

Thanks

OK the {action.optOutUrl} puts a URL into the newsletter. When the subscriber clicks on the URL they are taken to the site and get a Unsubscribe confirmation page.

You MUST have un\subscribe permissions checked for the anonymous user (in Drupal ) for this to work.

There are other optout tokens that use an email message as the means of unsubscribing, {action.optOut} but these require a bit of fiddling around with email processing - Ive never got them to work as Im not all that tecchy,

Well, the questioner is using Joomla 1.5.25 like me so a Drupal answer is not going to help.
I am receiving the same behavior except the email link is working but not the URL. Just takes me to a blank page.
Also, is the action.optOutURL supposed to be going to /domain-name/administrator/..?
Thanks
