Joomla Search Profile with contribution fields
August 01, 2009, 10:41:53 am
Hi,

I am trying to set up a Search Profile so that our membership person can update the membership from the front end of Joomla. The main reason for this is because I think she will get confused with all of the fields and things in the back end that we do not use.

This profile needs to have contact, individual, and contribution fields, but when I use contribution fields, I get the following two errors in the Joomla front end (and actually, I get these errors even when I only put contribution fields in the profile):

1. This Profile includes fields for more than one record type. Profile is not configured for the selected action.
2. No fields in this Profile have been configured as searchable. Ask the site administrator to check the Profile setup. (Note: This is not true. I do have fields configured as searchable. I don't get this error when it is just contact and individual fields in the profile).

Is it possible to do what I'm trying to do? Is there a better way?

My site is not live yet, so I cannot show you anything more at this point.

Thanks very much,
Phil

you cannot use a profile to update any non-contact related fields at this time. hence u get the error when u add the contribution fields

Thank you for the quick reply Donald,

Can you point me to which template to edit specifically for the CiviMember Summary 'Edit' page in the Joomla back end? I suppose this is the same as the 'New Individual' page. Actually, I would also like to edit the templates of the Contribute and Membership pages, both when they are in 'Edit' mode.

I'm thinking this is how to hide certain fields, unless there is an option to do so right from inside Joomla.

Thanks again,
Phil
