Profile Settings: text Box inactive
August 03, 2009, 02:14:00 pm
Hi There.
When I create a profile and select settings, in CiviCRM » Administer CiviCRM » Profile Settings, I would like to edit the explanatory text boxes, but neither the beginning-of-the-form or end-of-the-form text box let me edit them. They show a grey outline with no text inside and I cannot select it. Hmmmmmm........ I used to, but now, it's not working anymore. Is it a conflict with another component or plugin maybe?

I am able to edit profile fields, just not the settings.   ???

Assuming that other JavaScript driven functionality is working (like tabs and "panes")... This sounds like a problem / possible conflict using the WYSIWYG editor plugin (fckEdit or tinyMCE). You could try changing the configured plugin (from one to the other) - Administer CiviCRM >> Global Settings >> Site Preferences.

Or I suspect if you enable the Firebug plugin in FireFox you'll see errors which should give you some clues as to what's happening.

Thanks, I will uninstall my JCE editor + plugin and check out my Firebug.

Hopefully, I can find the conflict causing plugin or component. Everything works just fine on our site, so you might be right that it could have something to do with the editor I installed.

OK, I set the editor to tiny MCE and it did the trick.
