groups showing up in user dashboard

Hello,

I am making a new website version for a Gardens support group. I am using CiviCRM to support organisation of our contacts and supporters. It took me a lot of effort, but I came quite a while I guess. Civimail is working great now, with all the emailcommunication via the general dashboard and activities tab. Organized the contacts in a few regular and smart groups. Persons in the 'system' and 'spammers' group are filtered away for the CRM-maintainer. Made a script in which new activities of only 'real life' persons do show up in red (scheduled) so maintainer is triggered to take action. Only thing which is missing yet is, is that bouncers from mailings are asssigned to 'localpartetcetera...' in stead of to the 'real life' person. In the mailingreports those boucers are also missing. But lucky me noticed in this board that my provider strugling with the same problem, so I trust him to find the answer eventually ;)

Okay where can you find my site ?

Don't hesitate to sign in as a member and or participant or use any other forms. It's all arriving in my regular spam box.  And if you happen to get a mailing from me, unsubscribe or better opt-out immideately before I will forward all my spam to you ;)

Now my question about groups. I made 8 groups from which
- 4 as 'user and user admin only'
- 2 as 'user and user admin only' and assigned as 'mailinglist'
- 2 'public user pages'.

  + Vrijwilligers Theehuis
Just a week ago I tested through and through how these groups showed up in the userdashboard and found out that both under 'Your groups' and in the listbox 'Join a group' only 2 kinds of groups where visible
1. the two public groups
2. only the mailinglists when the user had unsubscribed from it so that he could resubscribe. Untouched mailinggroups where invisible
This was great and precisely how I expected the system to work

After a week I came back to the user dashboard and very sadly found out that:
1. only the 2 public groups are visible under 'my groups'.
2. Unsubscribed mailinglists are no longer visible and can not be resubscribed anymore.
3. All groups can be assigned via the listbox 'join a group'

Anyone any suggestions what could have caused this unwanted changes and where I could start finding a solution.

Thanks, Rik

PS I have one other minor problem with groups. One of the unused smart groups I cannot delete anymore. Every action on this group ends in a '500 Server Error'. It's no big deal, only calling it in case it is interconnected to the 'real' problem.

I think I found the cause of this problem. It was caused by a 'solution' to another problem:
http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,8358.msg36126.html#msg36126
After putting the three files back to the originals, problem is solved.

I will test further and report on it.

Best regards, Rik
