Cannot select events for civi 3alpha in joomla 1.5.12

When I go to either one of these two:

    *
      Event Info
    *
      Register for Events

I can't get the events to get displayed.I went to check my events(Manage events) but the events are there.It should detect automatically shouldn't it.
If I leave it blank this is the message.
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

Could not find valid value for id

Can you more details about your install. Is it fresh install or upgrade ?
Are you trying to access your event page via front-end ?

Fresh install.Yes, I want the events to show up in the front-end through main menu.

Can you make sure your events are active. My local install shows active events while adding new Menu.

If you have installed CiviCRM and Joomla! in separate databases - the Menu Manager interface doesn't work w/o a hack which is described in this document:
