Username and Password fields missing from standard profile
August 09, 2009, 03:02:17 pm
This is a fresh install of Joomla 1.5.14 and CiviCRM 2.2.2. I tried CiviCRM 2.2.8 as well with the same result.

I have not modified the default profiles since the installtion. The "Name and Address" profile says it is used for "User Registration, User Account, Profile, CiviContribute". However when I click View/Edit profile the username and password fields are not on the form. I have clicked on add new fields but I can not find them in any of the categories. Can someone guide me or point to a guide to add these fields?

Also, when I look at the profile settings for this default "Name and Address" profile I see this;

[ x ] User Registration [ x ] User Account [ x ] CiviContribute

The check boxes for these three options are replaced with the left and right square bracket and an "x" in the middle. The profile and search results check boxes are normal check boxes and work fine.

Numerous Google and forum searches did not help with this issue. One suggestion I have seen is to enable the option to "Create a CMS Account" in the profile setting section (click on advanced settings). I do not see the advanced settings button anywhere in the profile area. Can someone provide me the exact location of this option?

"Create CMS Account" is the way to go. You should see a bar near the bottom of the main Profile Settings form title Advanced Settings. Clicking on this bar will reveal these additional fields. If you don't see the bar - and you're using IE8 - you'll need to upgrade to 2.2.8 (which you should do in any case as it's a security release).

Dave, Thanks for the quick reply!

I upgraded to 2.2.8 including the database upgrade portion, reset the session and removed cached copies of the old templates.

I can now see the button.
