I want to import lots of membership contribution records where some are for one year and some for two, some for three. The fields in the csv file are:
- base fee = annual fee for that type of membership
- total fee = total paid on a particular date for all fees which might include a one time payment for multiple years

How do you import member dues where one payment is for multiple years?

The goal is to view IN THE CONTRIBUTION RECORD how many years what they paid for.

Currently, there is a membership type ABC. Do I need to set up different membership types for multiple years like:
ABC-1 Year
ABC-2 Year
ABC-3 Year
?

Hello webguy2,

The Best way to do this would be to create different membership types. that way when you import your contacts, Civi will be able to configure the proper end date based on their start date and membership type.
