SOLVED: I must be less Dumb now!
August 12, 2009, 03:50:28 am
I am using release 2.x on that I have menu items for civiCase as well as the others. I see no of this on http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/. If I logon I cannot create a new case. I do not see the address fileds in new activity and "New Case for New Client".

Has the CiviCase facility n=been loaded?

I have probably not really understood what this site is for. Advice appreciated.

Can you re-check http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/view/case&reset=1&action=add&atype=13&context=standalone
It is flexible enough to allow you to create the case and the client on the fly or choose the client from the existing contacts.

You might want to add fields (for address, etc )to http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/uf/group/field?reset=1&action=browse&gid=4 which we use by default to create a New Individual.

Thanks, I created a new activity and scheduled something. I notice that I had two items once I had saved and that the first was in red. Why is this classed as "scheduled"? If I complete it is disappears from the list leaving the scheduled one there. So, if I make an "on-the-fly" entry (create a new activity) I may want to edit it but it is not the same status as "scheduled" it is now "ongoing" or something. When a "scheduled" task becomes red (i.e. one the scheduled day or later), surely it will be confusing to have one of those red ones being the original post?

For your other URL I got:

Are you saying everything is configurable?

The civicase component has been enabled on sandbox but I don't believe the configuration files have been set up. You might want to install on your own test machine and set the files up as in http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/CiviCase+Configuration

The config. files do not appear to be setup. If I try for a case and click "Save" or "Save and New" an error page is returned.

Do I have to create the xml files myself in 3.0? I managed to create the Case Type in Administer civiCRM, so why wasn't the xml file created?

Similar to 2.2.x you will need to create the xml files yourself
