The "Complete Description" field not working

I LOVE CiviEvents. However, I cannot add anything into the "Complete Description" field for any of my events. It is not an editable field (I click on it and nothing happens). This is forcing me to display everything in the Event Summary field, which causes my list of events to look funny b/c the Event Summary column gets so wide, I can't see the columns to the right of it.

Anyone else have this issue or know why it's not allowing me to enter a description?

In the demo site, the Complete Description field seems to work, it has a WYSIWYG editor w/ buttons above it, etc. but in my system, it's just a locked out box w/ no editor functions above and no ability to click on the box and enter anything.

Which WYSIWYG editor are you using?

Good question. How do I figure that out? :-[
(I'm just in charge of the CiviEvent component of our website, we've hired someone else to do the website itself using Joomla and she's out of town right now :).

You should check Administer CiviCRM →  Global Settings →  Site Preferences for WYSIWYG Editor.
CiviCRM supports FCKeditor and TinyMCE, you should be able to see them in the 'WYSIWYG Editor' drop down.
