Offline registration fails
August 13, 2009, 05:51:09 am
We want to register contacts for an event offline in CiviCRM 2.2.8, but when the Event is selected in the Contact record->Summary->Events->New event registration->registration->Event input field CiviCRM disappears after a few seconds leaving only the background image on the screen.

Any ideas what's going on?

Hey,

Please try to clear template caches and your browser's cache - it looks like some problem with JavaScript.

What browser are you using?

Thx,
m

I cleared the template and browser caches. No change. I'm using Firefox 3.5.2.

Thanks for your suggestions!

I do not experience the same problem on the demo site. When I assign an event to a contact, the screen dims for about a half second but, that's it.

When I do the same thing at my site the fields all disappear, and only the background remains. Note that on my site, the (fixed) width of the window is not quite enough to accommodate the length of the event input field, and CiviCRM attempts to redraw the field at a new screen location (a bit to the left) just before the foreground (all elements except the background) disappear. Note, too, that content window uses transparency.

Thanks again!

Not sure I fully imagine the effect that you're describing. Does it mean that you have very long event name and Event select is getting outside of the screen? This shouldn't really influence the way screen is rendered, vertical scrollbar should show up at the bottom and that's all. Maybe you could provide a screenshot of the screen before it shows just the background? Also, when it comes to reproducing on the demo, please try to provide the same lenght of the event name and a set of custom fields that you used for event that you're trying to make a registration for.

When you get an empty screen with just the background, when you take a look into page source, does it look valid, or is it an empty page?

Thx,
