upgraded from 2.2.2 to 2.2.8 - now missing civicrm_worldregion - non-recoverable

I upgraded from 2.2.2 to 2.2.8.  I search for contacts and get this error:

Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
DB Error: no such table
Database Error Code: Table 'civicrm.civicrm_worldregion' doesn't exist, 1146

Any ideas?
