CiviContribute PayPal Form in Joomla Works Intermittently

I'm using a CiviContribute form to take PayPal contributions at my campaign website. Mouseover Donate button, then click 'PayPal'.
It has worked for at least one donor, who made a contribution. It works from the admin panel in "Live" mode. However, it doesn't work all the time in the front end. After completing the form and clicking the button, it just returns me to the homepage of the site.
If it didn't work at all, I'd disable it, but since it works sometime, I keep thinking it's okay, only to learn that it's not.

do you have any idea of under what conditions it works and when it does not work? Any diagnosis on this might help track whats happening and why

It seems utterly unpredictable. It will work several times in a row, then I come back later to test it, and instead of going to the confirmation page, it returns to my homepage. Yet, it still works in the admin panel on a live test.

Feel free to go to http://www.ScottOtt.org , mouseover the Donate button at the top, then choose PayPal from the drop down. Don't worry, you can't accidentally contribute.

seems like you are using joomla SEF or some url rewrite module/component. I'd disable that for now. Most likely that is the issue

That's funny...because I activated the Joomla SEF so that another component/module would work...one that allows comments through IntenseDebate. For now, free speech will have to bow before campaign funding. Ironic.

Disabling SEF in Joomla Global Configuration seems to have done the trick. However, since the problem was intermittent, only time will tell.
