New Membership screen has errors

I am using Joomla 1.5.12 with CiviCRM 3.0 alpha2. From the "CiviCRM Home" screen when I use the left-side select list to create a new membership, the "New Membership" screen falls apart as soon as I choose an existing contact.    I have seen this issue with both Firefox 3.0.13 and IE7. The screen print is attached.
