Orgs assigned to case roles
August 18, 2009, 03:59:41 am
Is there any reason why case roles can only be assigned to indiv records? I'd like to allow orgs to also be assigned roles, but am just wondering if there was purposeful intent in limiting it to indivs.

no specific reason other than the code does not support it right now.

there was a consulting project which was started to allow orgs to be assigned. However plans for that project changed in the middle and the code did not make it into 3.0.

Lobo,
were you guys the lead on that project, or were you just aware of the discussion?
if others, can I get contact info to touch base and see if I can help get that restarted?

If I remember right, there was a patch submitted in jira, but I don't know if it works or not. Might be the same group of people.

web access was the lead for the project. marcus and alpha international worked with them on it when they were planning to go down the civicase route (they've since changed their minds and are not using civicase)

Found it. CRM-4526, but as noted don't know if it works.
