Hiding Credit Card fields on Civicontribute
August 20, 2007, 02:30:27 pm
Hi,

We use PayPal Web Payments Pro with civicontribute to capture memberships.  I upgraded to 1.8 over the weekend and now I see a button to click to pay with PayPal and a another section below that for people to enter their credit card information on my site and have it sent to PayPal.  Problem is, I don't have SSL through my Host Provide and don't want to go through the time and cost to implement it.

Does anyone know if there is a way to hide those credit card fields?

Thanks!

Dave Greenberg

PayPal Payment "Pro" has always required the contributor's credit card information to be collected on the CiviCRM site. If your site was NOT doing this prior to upgrading to 1.8 - I suspect the problem is that you've actually been using Website Payments "Standard" - which pushes contributors to a PayPal page to collect their payment info. If you modify your Payment Processor setup in CiviCRM to use PayPal Standard instead of "Pro" - the credit card / billing address blocks will disappear.
