"load jquery first"
August 19, 2009, 05:35:32 pm
I'm getting periodic popups stating "load jquery first". It seems to be triggered when I use the menus, but I haven't pinned down anything specific yet. It does not appear to impact functionality (dropdowns still work and menu items work fine).

Ok, so it seems like that message pops up on some page loads. Javascript functions seem to be working fine.

hmmm...

ok, the TinyMCE editor is not working on my test install. I just get the text area box. FCK works fine. And it appears it's related -- the jquery error only happens when TinyMCE is configured and I load a page with a text area field.

I'm not getting this on the drupal demo site, but have tested it on two separate testing installs (Joomla) and get the same behavior.

maybe 3.0 should just drop support for TinyMCE and only support FCKEditor

thoughts?

I'd vote against that.

TinyMCE is the default editor for Joomla, and one of the most frequently used WYSIWYG editor extensions is based on TinyMCE. Having that as an option helps me keep the interface more consistent for users.

(besides, I think it's a better editor -- FCK always seems clumsy to me)
