moved to new server... joomla menu for civiCRM not working
August 20, 2009, 04:46:37 pm
Strange stuff happening with Joomla/civiCRM

We have moved a test install to what we would like to be our live server.

In the live environment, when trying to do anything to place CiviCRM content onto the front-end site through the joomla menus, we run into a very strange problem.

On the Menu Item Manager, we click on New, then under Internal Link we click on CiviCRM.  Instead of getting a tree of options, we get a single Menu Item with CiviCRM as teh type, but with nothing under Parameters.

What controls civiCRM access to the menu component of Joomla?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Shouldn't be a problem as long as the user as backend access.

1. Problem started after you moved ? or it was already there ?

2. Did you follow the procedure from - http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Moving+an+Existing+Installation+to+a+New+Server+or+Location, as you moved to a new server.

3. Can you check if you have this directory present - <joomla_root>/components/com_civicrm/views , with all subdirectories like contributions, profiles .. and xml files ?

Looks like probable conflict with Community Builder.  Anybody have Community Builder and CiviCRM on the same joomla install?
