Should Personal Campaign Pages show up on a user's dashboard?
August 21, 2009, 11:08:49 am
2.2.7

We are testing Personal Campaign Pages and I'm wondering how users are supposed to view/edit their PCPs without having to remember the URL of the page.  I was informed on #civicrm that a user *should* be able to view their PCPs on their dashboard, but this doesn't seem to be working for us.  I tried giving the Drupal "authenticated user" role every single CiviCRM permission available, but the PCPs still didn't show up anywhere that I could find.

Anyone have an idea what we might be doing wrong?

Thanks,

Nathan

That was it, thanks.  I didn't know that option existed.  Is there any formal PCP documentation yet?  All I could find were some preliminary and random documents that weren't terribly thorough.

Would be great if you could take a stab at creating the first version of the PCP documentation, since u've been playing around with it a fair amount

thanx

This page already exists, and while it was somewhat helpful, I found it not quite right and a bit confusing.

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Manage+-+PCP

Do you suggest that I edit that page or create a new one?  Is the location of that page in the doc hierarchy okay?

Thanks,

Nathan

I have created a very basic document here:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Personal+Campaign+Pages

The following page should be removed, but I don't have privs to do it:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=14909473
(Title: Context & Overview - PCP)

Hi,

Go to civicrm -> civicrm Admin -> Global Setting -> Site Preferences
Check Contact Dashboard Section.

Sunil

I did the above and Contact Dashboard is now available to this user group (authenticated users).
However, the Dashboard does not see existing PCP's for these users.
It does see new PCP's, created after the Dashboard setting change and after giving these users "Access CiviCRM" permission. Giving "Access CiviContribute" does not help.

It sees existing PCP's for other roles that have CiviCRM privs that I probably don't want to give to mere Authenticated Users.

Any idea what needs to be done here?

Thanks,

Eric

See my "new" post on this:

Access to existing PCPs in Contact Dashboard

Short answer: Merge multiple contacts so the Drupal User login will find the PCP.
