Registration of Organisations as a Member and Individual as a Contact Person

Hi All,

We have a scenario where an organisation becomes a member of the Association and a contact in that organisation registers himself as a contact person (Authorised Contact) for that organisation.

As I can see from the profiles, it is not possible to create a profile with Organisation and Individual.

Was above functionality ever implemented? How are others setting up similar scenarios in their organisations?

Actually what you are describing is very possible.

The limitation comes about when you are collecting data on the Organization during the membership signup process.

If all you want to do is collect the Organization Name, address, phone number for an organization and have a Individual sign up as the "main person" for this organization then that is possible out of the box with CiviCRM 2.2

I've done a lot of work like this, and would be happy to help you.

First, start by editing (or Creating) a contribution page and enabling it as a membership signup form.
For example you can see here on the demo site:
http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/contribute?reset=1&action=update&id=2&subPage=Settings

Click the box that says "Allow individuals to contribute and / or signup for membership on behalf of an organization?"

This will get you started.  Once you've done that, post again and let me know what other questions you have!   :)

This is a great feature but is it possible to re-label the default fields for "Organization Details" section or add/remove some of the organization fields?

One possibility I see is to hardcode the Utils.php function buildOnBehalfForm (line 316) but is there a more elegant way at the admin front-end?
