Correct behaviour of 'Edit Smart Group Criteria'
August 25, 2009, 02:02:48 pm
When one clicks on Edit Smart Group Criteria via Manage Group > Settings, the Adv Search opens up - and in the query box area will show the query eg
Contact Type - Organisation ... AND ... Membership Type = XXX ... AND ... Membership Status IN YYY and ZZZ

which is great, but the Adv Search fields are not selected to reflect this - though in the example I am looking at, the Contact Type = Organisation is checked, just no ticks in the Membership fields.

SHould the 'recorded search' that makes the Smart Group, not be reconstructed through this process so we can verify, other than by reading the query, exactly what settings have been included in the Search?

yea thanks lobo - i should have fired up the demo site before posting, but having just spotted this happening on  second client's site (both pre 2.2.6) i thought I should check what the anticipated behaviour was - will keep my eye on this in case i can show what breaks it (if anything)

I just tried editing a smart group & I got really confused - you seem to have to change the criteria and choose 'search' - I think I wound up creating a new group because I couldn't see 'save'. I probably better go back & clean up :-)
