I recently upgraded to 2.2.8 on Joomla 1.5.14 install and have noticed that searching for records by using the "Find Contacts" in CiviCRM no longer works and instead yields the "No matches found" error, even for names and email addresses that are clearly in the system.  I've tried copying and pasting email addresses into the "Name or Email" field as well as typing them manually, only to have the same error.

Has anybody had a similar issue?  And, if so, is there a solution that I did not see prior to posting this question?

Followed your suggestion. Interestingly, the top four options had neither 'yes' or 'no' selected.  I set them to 'yes' and everything appears in order now.
