Can't Login: Fatal Error
August 25, 2009, 10:37:17 pm
I was busy working with my standalone installation, when suddenly I got an error. This is after more than a hour (setting up profiles, embedding stuff on websites, etc...)

Suddenly I got:
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

You do not have permission to access this page

Return to home page.

I login again and get the same error. I check OpenID and all is fine. I login in again and again and same error.

Everything was working fine before the error started. Now I can't login at all.

Help?!?

Sunil

Hi,

First User(admin)    :: has all permission (member administrator group)
other User              :: Not a member administrator group ( authenticated )

Are you First User of standalone CiviCRM?
If YES ( first user have all permission ) (administrator Permission )
  1. Check civicrm.settings.php file present in standalone directory.
  2. check allowed_to_login is 1 for user in civicrm_openid table

If No. (authenticated Permission )
  1. Login with admin, give permission to authenticated user as 'access CiviCRM' etc. (civicrm admin ->  Access Control -> Manage Core ACL )
  2. check other user open id already present in civicrm db, and has allow to login permission.
      ( allowed_to_login is 1 for user in civicrm_openid table )
  3. If New user want to login with their openID then define CIVICRM_ALLOW_ALL in civicrm.settings.php

Hth

I am the first and only user, set up as Admin. Can't get into admin at all.

Are you First User of standalone CiviCRM? YES

  1. Check civicrm.settings.php file present in standalone directory. It's there
  2. check allowed_to_login is 1 for user in civicrm_openid table    It's a 1

I"ve been through all the related sql tables and the settings files and can't seem to find anything. OpenID is working on all other sites. Still getting error:

Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

You do not have permission to access this page

The return to homepage link there is also blank. All of my forms are working (although now I can't administer them)

I'm getting the same issue, I've been through all the steps suggested but I can't find this:

CIVICRM_ALLOW_ALL in civicrm.settings.php

in civicrm.settings.php, I'm using version 2.2.8

I added that line to civicrm.settings and it made no difference. I also tried adding another user with a different openid and get the same issue for all.

I can see no difference between the regular users and the admin in terms of openid access but only admin seems to be able to login.

and the last bit of potentially useful info, I just added one of the users who can't sign in to the administrators group and now she can get access, other than this all civicrm_openid settings in the database are identical for users or admins I wish to have access.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

For cases when acl permissions are messed up (especially for admin), another solution is to reset acls -
1. Truncate your civicrm_acl table.
Code: [Select]
TRUNCATE table civicrm_acl;2. Take "INSERT INTO civicrm_acl ....." query from civicrm/sql/civicrm_acl.mysql file and run on your db.

This should fix "You do not have permission to access this page" error for the admin.
Note: 1. this 'll also reset any changes to core acl permissions that has been made. 2. Take backup before playing /w the db.

patch0,
If you able to login with the other user make sure administrator has all the permissions set in core acls. And once admin is working you can remove CIVICRM_ALLOW_ALL setting.

So same openid is causing the user to sync with same civicrm contact and therefore those privileges. This is not a bug. In fact civicrm (ver >=2.2) doesn't allow adding other users with same openid.

I've so far added three contacts and only three contacts, all with different openids and none of them can login apart from me the orginial admin, only when I make one of them an admin do they have access.

Ok, i misunderstood your question. So other contacts (who have a valid openid and can login) fall under "Authenticated" group/role which has a different set of permission than administrator.
The default set of permission for authenticated role is very limited and therefore that restriction. You can go to " CiviCRM  » Manage ACLs  » Access Control" screen (as admin) and assign more permissions to that role.

Back to me... I was at a funeral...

Truncated acl tables and reinserted SQL info.

No change.

Still Getting:
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

You do not have permission to access this page

Return to home page.

Since I was NEVER able to log in again, I had to uninstall civicrm, reinstall and start all over again. This time I used my google account for openid instead myopenid, and it seems to work fine. I have not had any problems, beyond the hours lost re setting up each and every data/profile/contrib page I created.
