Author Topic: Joomla Component select leads to almost nowhere (Read 1607 times)

In a Joomla (1.5.14) install (with beta1) if I am in the Joomla Admin views, click on component, run down the list to CiviCRM and just click on that (rather than going to the side and choosing something specific) I end up on a page which just contains the list of things I could have selected from the side of that dropdown menu and nothing from CiviCRM.

It would seem more instinctive if it put me in the CiviCRM dashboard (CiviCRM Home), or general admin page, rather than just forcing me to select again. I may well have to select from those pages to get to where I am going, but they are more fully featured than the dropdown menu.

This isn't a bug in the sense that it works OK, it just doesn't "flow" well.

I am guessing CiviCRM link is generated by Joomla, so not sure how to handle this. May be some joomla experts can throw some light on this.

The link is created by Jooma, but I'm pretty sure that the component can select which page it takes you to if clicked on. Likewise, the component decides what drop down options you get from that component on the menu.
