demographic data doesn't turn off for CiviCase

I don't want to collect gender or birth date information.  I've gone into Configuration Checklist | Settings | Site Preferences and un-checked Demographics in editing contacts, but gender and birth date still show up on the CiviCase form.  How do I get these to go away?  I'm using CiviCrm w/Drupal 6 and have flushed the caches.

Currently it is hard-coded for CiviCase. You will have to manually modify the code to remove it. I would recommend you should use Custom Templates.

Un-checking Demographics in editing contacts section would result in suppressing those fields on the Contact Edit form.

To get rid of these fields on the CiviCase form, you might want to check templates/CRM/Case/Form/Case.tpl and suppress the desired fields using custom templates.
