We are still on Drupal and CiviCRM version 1.9 and have an issue that I think has been with us for quite a while.   When sending an email with CiviMail  both test and the actual send immediately, there seems to be an extra one character blank space that inserts itself in the middle of the email.   Many times it does not really matter, but other times it goofs up an HTML tag like <img or today a <br> was turned into a <b r>.

I'm wondering if anyone remembers a bug like this and if there was a fix.  Also, has it resolved itself for versions later than 1.9 ?

Of course the best solution would be to update to the current version and I hope we will.  But unfortunately, we haven't.

This is an example of one of our more troublesome CiviMail bugs with version 1.9.   As a test, 20 rows of 100 digits were repeated down the page, with a blank row between each 20 rows.

About every 960 characters (not sure about the cr lf) there is a space or some other character inserted.  The extra space seems occur regularly and can be duplicated with additional mailing tests..  The extra space occurs on the CiviMail step 4 test as well as the final bulk email. 

I'm thinking that the program module that reads the field in the record for the mailing may read the field or place in in the mailing a certain number of characters at a time and after each iteration, inserts an extra character.

Anyway this has continually been a fairly big deal for us.   I'd like to offer a $20 Paypal bounty for the first person to lead us to our being able to fix the bug.   We may need exact help or possibly if we could just locate the module (in version 1.9) that does the mailing we might be able to zero in on it.
