Pretty sure this bug is back: http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-3902

I verified this on demo. Here are my steps:
- Create a profile with Org. Name, City, and website
- set strict org. dedupe rule to org name (weight of 5), city (weight of 5), with threshold of 10

DharmaTech is in the demo database (with city Salt Lake City) and I went to create a new record via the profile with the same values for name and city as the record in the database except i changed the website. It should have updated the existing DharmaTech record.

Am I correct that this bug is back? If so should I reopen that ticket or create a new one?

I tried reproducing this on current trunk (r23554) with the dedupe rules above, and an attempt to create an organisation with a given name and city fails with ‘An account already exists with the same information’.

Can you reproduce this issue on sandbox (demo still runs CiviCRM 2.2)?

Hi Piotr. Tony here.

I apologize.  I forgot to specify that I had "update contact on duplicate match" checked in the profile's settings.

I was able to reproduce on sandbox. Instead of updating the existing DharmaTech record, it created a new one. Ignoring my dedupe rules.

I’m sorry, I’m an idiot. First, I forgot to check the checkbox you mentioned, next – I mistakenly set the threshold to 5. The dedupe matching is running, and it does update the org, it’s just that a city-based rule is broken (the updating works if you set the threshold to 5). I’ll fix it tomorrow.

I think I fixed this in r23570 (and updated sandbox), so I’d love it if you could verify the fix.

Note: I filed CRM-5026 to fix in 3.1 as a result of works on this issue.
