Issue with setup on local machine under WAMP

I am installing CiviCRM 2.2.8 on my XP machine within WAMP and I am getting a ton of errors.  Any ideas?

r u using PHP 5.3?

note that CiviCRM does not support PHP 5.3 as yet (i suspect v3.1 will)

WAMP will let you install multiple versions of php and switch between them. I think you can download directly from the wampserver site.

but you have to create a php.ini for each version.  I found a source for legacy WAMP releases.  I am going to try a version with php 5.2XX
