Hi Folks,

I have a Contribution Page which I thought would allow for the payment of new members and the renewal of existing members.  What I have found is that where there is no membership record for an existing contact when transferring from the contribution confirmation page to Paypal the user gets an Access denied page because the is no membership record on file (at least that's what I think is happening.  If I add a membership record for the user then the issue doesn't arise.

I thought the system would create the memberhsip record for new users and renew for existing users.  I think I have misunderstood something. I would appreciate some guidance on where I am going wrong.

I haven't tried but I will.  I missed the error message which is:

The membership Cannot be saved.
No valid membership status for given dates

What does this mean?  The membership period is Calendar Year and the Grace Period is 6 months (expires 30th June each year).  Can a new member not join after the period of grace?

I will read further but if someone has a quick response I would appreciate their assistance.
