Drupal User Registration

Hey Guys,

I am having this weird issue, where civicrm takes over and does not allow a user to access the user/register page. The odd thing about it is, it does not do it all the time. I want to use the drupal registration for, so a user creates their drupal profile, and chooses a role, and all the contact information they enter is added to a civicrm contact record.

Currently, you can click on a link that goes to the user/register page, but then it forwards the user onto civicrm/profile/create?reset=1&gid=1. Other times, it loads up the user/register page just fine.

I did notice that in my Profiles, for the profile I am using for user registration I have the "profile" box checked, I am assuming that is what was causing the problem, but now it does not seem to work at all. When I disable that box, it's still loading up that page, never loads up the user/register page, and just returns an error. I know why its returning the error, just not why its even trying to go to that page in the first place.

Ideas or recommendations?

Thanks!

Can you confirm you are only using civicrm for the user profiles - or are you trying to have a bob each way and use drupal profiles too?

Hey,

I am trying to do a combination of the two. Let drupal create an account for the user, but have civicrm create a contact profile for them as well. They need to create there account through drupal because they need to select a specific role, and have a drupal user account to create nodes.

Here is a live example of the problem (http://bccf.archive.ryanilg.com/user/register)

When you click the menu item at the top to "signup", it loads the civicrm version of the reg page. When you are on the civicrm version of the reg page, and you click the signup button, it loads user/register. (the one I want to use, with embeded civicrm contact details)

When you click the "create new account" button, it just reloads the page again, but with the civicrm version of the form.
Its never consistent. I have no idea what the problem could be.

I think you may get some clarification from the chapter in the book - http://en.flossmanuals.net/CiviCRM/CapturingExposing

Either have people sign up via the Drupal user registration and include some civicrm profiles in there by setting them to "User Registration"

or set up a civicrm profile and in Adv Settings require that they sign up for a Drupal account.
