how to install 2.2 without clean urls?
September 09, 2009, 07:11:42 am
I am running wamp and can not enable clean urls.  I need to install civicrm.  any ideas?  I did not see anything in the documentation about installing it without clean urls and I searched first.

Thanks.

CiviCRM should work the same regardless of whether Clean URLs are enabled or not – i.e., it works perfectly well without Clean URL support.

Are you running into any particular problem that shows because Clean URLs are not enabled?

the documentation for 2.2 install has no details for installation without clean URLs like previous versions did.  No, it did not work sending the url to /site/civicrm/....install.php.  it threw an error page and it seems to me, of course it doesn't work with "?" which is when I started researching and found nothing.

Thanks.

The installer does not work over clean URLs – you’re supposed to give simply the real URL to CiviCRM’s codebase, not something associated with your existing Drupal install (other that it shares the common first part). If your Drupal root is at some-url, you need to enter some-url/sites/default/modules/civicrm/install/index.php – there’s no clean URLs working here.

I've been able to get around the issue for now but when I entered that site and triple-checked it after the errors - it threw an error about page not found.  You can close this posting  - thanks.
