Cannot see custon fields in mapping routine of import
September 13, 2009, 02:55:24 pm
I have about 20 custom fields in a data group set up as "Contact" (not contact individual).  I am trying to import voter registration dtat.  I have no custom data fields visible in the drop down associated with the column mapping page in import.

I saw a thread here about "truncate the cache>  I did that successfully and it still did not work.  I also saw a thread about some issues with Firefox.  I am running 3.0 firefox.  I disable firebug, still they do not appear.  I even tried the routine with IE .80.  Nothing is working.  Anyone got any ideas?

One last thing.  I did delete the only mapping I had stored thinking that might be the problem.  That did not work either.

most likely you have enabled the "multiple record" feature of custom group. This feature is quite good, but we dont support import and profiles with these custom groups

also what cache did u truncate. ensure u have truncated the civicrm_cache table

All the fields I am trying to import now are all single record fields.  At one time, I had created a data group that had multiple records, but I deleted it.  The cache you mentioned is the one that I cleared.  Is there maybe another table some where that may have a reference to the multiple record type i previously deleted that may be causing the problem?

the cache table is the only one that is used

i would double check the custom group settings to make sure that it is not multiple group. also check that it is for type Contact (or the same type that you are importing)

Thanks Lobo.  On elast Question.  is there an issue between using "Contact" as the type to create records for and "Contact - Individual"?
