Member email changes

In a CiviCRM-Joomla install, if a Joomla member - CiviCRM contact relationship exists and the individual's email address changes, does the change propagate from one table to the other or does it need to be intentionally changed in both tables?

It does not propagate in Joomla. By Joomla member, I assume you mean a person with a Joomla login

p.s> Note that this works with drupal, primarily because drupal exposes 'hooks' that allow us to hook into such events fairly easily
