curl functions NOT available

After literally spending 3 days intalling CiviCRM and another day creating a new contribution page and added my PayPal IPN info via the Payment Processor I'm finally ready to test the page in sandbox mode....

In Manage Contribution Pages > MyPage > Test-drive > Make Contribution > I get the following error

Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
curl functions NOT available.
------------

Can someone please help?

Make sure php on your server is complied with curl support.
