Integrating with Location Module and using Organisation Contact data
September 15, 2009, 02:34:55 pm
This might well be a longshot, but I thought I'd post this anyway:

I understand that we can expose a CiviCRM Profile to the Drupal user profile/registration, and that Location module can use this data, which is brilliant. But as well as individuals, CiviCRM also has organisation contact records. I'm building a site that has user profiles, but it also has organisation profiles, and I'd love to be able to sync the data in the Drupal organisation profile with the CiviCRM organisation record in same way as i can with user information.

And having done that the next bit would be to utilise the location data in the organisation profile to create a marker on a Google Map using the GMap module.

Is it possible? Has anyone done it? If so, how?

Lobo, thanks for the link. I'm not one for changing core code if I can avoid it, so perhaps I'll sit tight on this for the moment. As for the Location module and its capability to use civiCRM profile data, this post http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,9501.0.html gives me cause to believe that it works. The term 'interact' may be taking it a little far though.
