Post 2.2.8 Minor Upgrade Issue
September 15, 2009, 09:18:19 pm
Since upgrading and importing 485 contact records, it seems that Civi Search Results is no longer sorting in alphabetical order as (I BELIEVE) it was prior to performing the upgrade.

After searching, I do not see any way to sort the search results in any fashion at all.

What is the default search order based on?

My client is going to want to be able to sort the search results as it seems to be the best way to get a listing of ALL contacts in the system. But at the very least, shouldn't it be Alpha sorted?

Go to "Global Settings ยป Search Settings" screen and check the options there. Make sure "Include Order By Clause" option is set.

Hi,

Just double checked - Order By Clause Radio button set to yes.

Should I deselect that and then set it back?

Thanks!

Give that a try. Also can you check if behavior is same on http://sandbox.civicrm.org/.

When trying to go into the demo from the Sandbox site I get:
Sorry, er is een onherstelbare fout opgetreden.

I'm kinda reluctant to change any of the settings right now on a semi live site.  Reason being that I had made a change to a Profile I wanted to use as the default contact search profile.  Still can not get the profile I want listed in the options (In Global Settings, Search Settings). After I reset that setting to a Profile that was listed, then changed it back to my Original Default Search Profile, I can no longer export selected records from the search results, using Additional Actions drop down list.

I'm just wondering if I have a bigger issue than I realize.

Another odd issue is sometimes, when selecting options as Edit or Delete, I am just returned to an empty Joomla/CiviCRM Page - no Data, No errors displayed.

Specific system info:

Which civicrm version you are at ? If 2.2.9 see if you can recreate any behavior on http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/. (sandbox is now fixed.)

Could you also check your logs to see if there is any clue for these weird behaviors.

Just checked the Drupal Demo.  No Issue.  Is the demo site running 2.2.9?

An option to select fields for Export has never been available in my Joomla site. Is this new to 2.2.9 or should I see this in 2.2.8?

I just tried the Joomla site, but even after setting the default language to English (UK), it show as Arabic script.
