1.8 Beta Error
August 24, 2007, 03:18:59 pm
I get the following error after installing the component:

Code: [Select]
Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in /home/lawra/public_html/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/CRM/Utils/File.php on line 114

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in /home/lawra/public_html/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/CRM/Utils/File.php on line 114

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in /home/lawra/public_html/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/CRM/Utils/File.php on line 114

Fatal error: Smarty error: the $compile_dir '/home/lawra/public_html/media/civicrm/templates_c/en_US/' does not exist, or is not a directory. in /home/lawra/public_html/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/packages/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1095

Another post in the Drupal board said to check my
Code: [Select]
$compile_dir (which I can't seem to find). What should I do. I cannot access the component at all.

Thanks!

Can u ensure that the web server has read/write access to the directory:

/home/lawra/public_html/media

If you are not familiar how to do the above, please check with your hosting provider

That fixed it! Thanks. Stupid mistake. Apparently the Joomla installer does not do that to new files it places in the media directory?
