How to add a Secondary mailing address to a contact record?
September 17, 2009, 10:28:40 am
I am a new Civi User (and not a coder) and it seems like this should be relatively easy but I am having a heck of a time figuring it out..

All I want to do is give the ability to specify a secondary mailing address in any Civi contact profile.. an Org contact or an Individual contact..  I see the 'Primary Location' field when I go in and look up and EDIT a Contact record.. so I was going to try and create a custom data set to display below that set of fields, with the fields for a Secondary Address... but I cannot figure out where to insert it below the Primary location fields in the contact record..  In the past there was an "Add" link (along with the still existing Delete link) I could click under the Primary contact field, and add in a second address.. but that seemed to have gone away after an upgrade a while back.. so I am not sure if it was a custom code issue that didn't get put back in or what..

any ideas would be helpful.

What you need to do is go here: /civicrm/admin/setting/preferences/address?reset=1 (admin>>global settings>>address settings) and set the number of locations to 2 (or whatever you like). Then when editing a record, you can add additional locations.

hope this helps

Ahh yes!!!  I knew it had to be that simple!..  I was looking everywhere except the right place, of course..

Thank you so much!
