Contributions as a Household
September 18, 2009, 07:54:23 am

Hi,

I have created a household i.e Alan, i also want to add a wife as the subscription is a Family. Is there any way within Civi that allows me to create the member 'Alan' and then add the wife (as a contact) to the same address with out using the relationship tab.

Thanks

Dipesh

Thanks for getting back to me.

So does that mean i have to manually create them using the relationship tabs?

Also once i have created them do they become a contact to the member or what?

You might want to read the book: http://en.flossmanuals.net/CiviCRM and also the docs:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/CiviCRM+Documentation

to get a better idea/understanding of CiviCRM

You can manually create the relationship or import it. Once created the two contacts have a relationship

Sorry again but i have another question

I have created a new contact using Contributions, but currently in both Home and Mobile phone number fields, the number does not display as 0208 or 077 it currently displays as 208 and 77.

I have checked the data type in the Civi Admin section and its currently displayed as Number.

I am assuming you are using phone as a custom data, you might wanna use data-type="Alphanumeric",
since otherwise 0077=77 if the data-type = "Number"

Otherwise for core fields, the phone number are saved as is.
