Self Service for an organization
September 22, 2009, 04:57:43 am
Is it possible for an organization to be administered via a self service model.

We would like individual organizations to be able to add individuals who are related to them.

Similar to a chapter and member model.

Thanks.

We want to implement a solution that allows churches within a denomination to manage their list of church leaders.

A church would be an organization

One or more individuals would have a relationship to a church with rights to edit the church

An individual would log in and would create relationships of other individuals to the church they have rights over.

In the demo I've created a church organization and an individual with a relationship and rights to edit the church. When I log in as the individual I don't see any links to the organization information.

Thanks

how many folks in a church?, i.e. how many individuals / church etc? If you are managing lots of individuals / church, you might want to consider using the multisite features in CiviCRM v3.0

I dont think you can do what you want using permissioned relationships. If you are willing to write custom code, then you can potentially extend the permissioned relationship model and allow users to create new individuals associated with their organization etc

thanx

This part of your requirement is supported out of the box. If the "individual" who has permissioned relationship with the church logs in, and then goes to "Contact Dashboard" - they should see a section "Your Contacts / Organizations" - and a link to Edit Contact Info.
