Email-list subscription profile: Use custom dupe cheking?

Hi there,

I'm setting up a profile that enables guests to sign up for our email lists.

The dupe checking used by profiles is "strict". I'd prefer to use a custom dupe check. Is it possible to do this?

(If you're wondering why, I'm concerned that I may adjust my strict profile at a later date for some other reason and unwittingly mess up the email-list-subscription dupe checking)

Currently no. But at some point, we should make dupe check functionality 'hookable' so a developer can control what dupe check gets called in any specific scenario
