Custom data set display order for sets allowing multiple sets

Looking the least intrusive way of changing the order of custom data sets that allow multiple sets.  The sets are displays in ascending order by ID, we'd like to be able to order them based on a particular data field and then choose ascending or descending; the most common use is for time related data. 

Data set sort order would be a good addition to the core product as well
