CiviEvents Joomla Module + J1.6
June 28, 2011, 10:30:47 am
Hello,

Now that we are getting alot of the foundational issues resolved, we have time to look into using CiviEvents as our main Event Calandar and Convention Registration system.  We were very excited to see the CiviEvents Joomla Module.  The install on our J1.6.3 and CiviCRM 4.0.0 system worked great.  However, when i go into the module to configure it, there are no parameters on the right.  When i place it on a page (module position) it will not display anything.

If someone could help me with this, or let me know if it's supposed to be supported in these versions, i would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Curtis

I'm in the same boat Curtis. I just installed mod_civievent_v2.0.1.zip into my new server (Joomla 1.6.3 / Civi 4.0.4). I get the same results: no parameters and nothing displays.

I can't find where I downloaded the mod originally. I'm searching for the author. Any ideas? Never mind... just found him in the xml file within the mod - Nakul Ganesh. I'll send him a message.

Let me know if you get this working. I'll do the same.

- John

Hello,

Glad to know i'm not alone.  I know people would rather we not go with 1.6, but our organization requires the more robust ACL built into Joomla - rather than using the MSC that you can buy separately.

This module can be found here:  http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/CiviEvent+Joomla+Module

The 2.0.2 version was actually done by Brian Shaughnessy.

If there is any help, please let me know.  I will do the same.

Joomla 1.6 changed a number of things including the manifest files and parameters / form fields.

You're going to have to rework the module for 1.6.

this will help http://docs.joomla.org/Standard_form_field_and_parameter_types

Thank you for the update.  This will be a very helpful feature on the home page of our new site that will go live Aug 1st.  We can get by with highlighing special events in our slideshow until then.

Thank you for updating these modules.

I've updated the module to be J16+ compatible.
The wiki doc is updated to reflect this: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/CiviEvent+Joomla+Module

In order to facilitate ongoing development, I've moved the entire project to github. As the wiki doc indicates, the extension package can be downloaded directly from the github repository.

There was more updating to do than I originally anticipated. But everything seems to be working as expected in my testing. Please report any bugs using the github issue tracker.

There are a few "TODO" items I plan to work on later this week. But for now, this version provides the same level of features as the current J15-compatible version.

Hi lcdweb

I have just installed the CiviEvent Joomla Module in 2..5.6 Joomla and 4.1.3 Civicrm I wanted to used the Selection Mode (First option in module configuration window) as Event Selection, then I selected the events in the

Mode: Custom Event Selection Options
Select Events

But I receive the following message: No events meet the selected criteria.

I looks like the events are presented in the configuration option, but when you select them, the selection is not working.

Kind regards,
Federico

we have not been able to reproduce this. can you take another look at your settings and see if there's anything odd about them. also make sure that you're selecting "event selection" in the mode drop down.

I had that error too -- turns out the event was not enabled for online registration.
