Wrong "end date" membership is calculated
June 17, 2012, 07:21:09 am
Hi,

I use CiviCRM 4.1.3 and Drupal 7.14

I think I have found a Bug in "membership" module for the new version of CiviCRM.

After importing 440 actual memberships via csv-file, I could'nt find them in CiviCRM.

After searching a while I found that they were there, but with an "expired" membershipstatus: the end date was not correct calculated. For the most of them years before 2012....

I try several "uploads" with the csv-file and found that the error happens when the field "member since" is imported. When I do no import this field, the end date of actual membership is well calculated and the actual memberships appears as expected.

The same error happens when I manually add a single membership and when the "beginning of first membership" is not in 2012 => let's say that the person is member since 1998 in our association and this year this person renew his membership.

When I enterend 1998 in the field "first membership" and today for "date begining" the wrong year is calculated for "date ending" => it becomes "31 december 1998 "

Anyone an idea ?

Kind regards,

konrad

Hi there,

I tried to replicate this on the demo site (http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/) and it worked as I would expect. Putting a date in 1998 into the 'Member Since' field and todays date in the 'Start Date' field gave an 'End Date' of two years from now which is what I would expect for the 'General' membership type on the demo installation.

The best thing to do when you experience a behaviour that you don't expect is to try and replicate on the demo site. Can you try and replicate on the demo site? If it works there, then you have narrowed down the problem to something to do with your config.

Also, you may find http://book.civicrm.org/user/the-civicrm-community/bug-reporting useful for more details on bug reporting.
