Getting Fatal error in CiviVolunteer
November 20, 2014, 01:30:17 pm
Hope I've gotten to the right forum. I have only partially set up a test CiviCRM installation, and especially wanted to test out the Volunteer extension.

I got CiviVolunteer downloaded and installed in /home/fair/public_html/civicrm/wp-content/plugins/files/civicrm/custom/  (This is not a unique folder just for extensions... could this be a problem?)

I created some volunteer positions, created an empty event, went back and could click a button to "sign up." But I wanted to try to set up schedules and such. However something has gone wrong because now when I select configure/volunteers or more/delete in the menu, I get the following error.

Fatal error: Call to undefined method CRM_Core_Resources::isAjaxMode() in /home/fair/public_html/civicrm/wp-content/plugins/files/civicrm/custom/org.civicrm.volunteer/CRM/Volunteer/Form/Manage.php on line 36

Any suggestions? I was thinking to just delete the fake event and start again, but I get the error there, too.

Since I am not fully set up, I am aware that there could be any number of places causing the failure but am hoping that somebody can give me a clue.

Hi. This sounds like a problem with that emerged with some changes in CiviCRM 4.5.4; they are resolved in CiviVolunteer 4.5-1.3.3. Please upgrade to the latest version of both CiviVolunteer and CiviCRM and let us know if the problems persist.

Thanks... I am using the latest CiviVolunteer.
I only have 4.5.2  for CiviCRM, but unfortunately my WordPress Dashboard thinks that is the newest version? It isn't prompting me to update anything.

I'm seeing this same error with CivicRM 4.5.2 and CiviVolunteer 4.5-1.3.3. I'll update CiviCRM and see if it fixes the issue.

Update on my end:
We installed a new "sandbox" site (V4.5) and have v.1.3.3 of CiviVolunteer installed. Took me a couple of tries to get the folders set up properly, since those needed to be created in the server side. But once they were in place, I have been able to work with CiviVolunteer with no new error messages.  Don't know if that is helpful at all.
