The part about having to have a SSL certificate from a certain place is definitely something that needs to be added to the set up instructions for Google Checkout. Also, the instructions need to be updated to show that the link to the API has to be a https:// address as well.That's probably why many of us are running into this problem - we didn't know we needed a SSL certificate since we're not passing any credit card information through.
