I'm running into the same thing.  I just upgraded to 3.1.2 on Joomla 1.5.15.  Is there a fix for this or do I need to take roll it back to 2.2?  ???

No, that didn't work.

It's almost like it doesn't recognize me as an admin.   What I have access to is a drop down menu to create a new email, etc.   Under Components => Civicrm in the top menu, there are no options.  It says to click to configure the dashboard, but nothing happens when I do.

Try clearing your browser cache and also delete media/civicrm/templates_c folder.

I'll try it again.

Is there an upgrade path listed somewhere?  I got it to 2.2.0; however, the issue that I have is that after they start the registration/subscription process, they get a "You are not allowed to view this url."

Do I go from 2.2.0 to 3.0 to the latest version?

Just to clarify:

The platform is at 2.2.0

The next install should be 3.0.0

Then 3.1.1 to 3.1.3

Or do I have to go 2.2.0=> 3.0.0 => 3.1.1 => 3.1.2 => 3.1.3

You can directly upgrade from 2.2.0 to 3.1.3

Okay, I went from 2.2.0 to 3.1.3.

The backend works now; however, when I try to do a test drive of the contribution page, this is the error that I get.

When I test the contribution page on the front end, after the confirmation of their information, this is what I get

You do not have permission to execute this url.

Here is another issue that I ran into.

If I go to edit an existing membership type, the new field "relationship" isn't available to edit.

If I create a new membership, I can select the relationship; however, it won't let me select the organization.  There are only two set up, but when I enter the name, it says that there are too many contacts with the same name and to refine the search.

And it continues . . .

I found a post on another forum that said the "you cannot execute this url" issue could be due to sh404sef.

So I disabled the component for civicrm, when through a contribution, and then got this error:

I got some errors resembling your saga on an upgrade and traced it to missing files that never made it in the FTP process
Thanks to those who help create and enhance civiCRM!
