CiviEvent: multiple individual registrations on a single submission
November 14, 2007, 09:24:36 am
I want to get more discussion going on the issue raised at the bottom of this thread:

http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,1533.msg6735.html#msg6735

An option "Add another person", which would display additional registration/CiviCRMProfile fields and would add the appropriate registration fees (if any) to the total. Any individuals added would be created as contact records with the appropriate event info, CiviCRMProfile info (if any), and Custom Data (if any) just like a single registration. We could even have an option to add the contact info of the main person as "Billing" info for all the people they register.

This feature will not be making it into 2.0. The 2.0 feature set is now frozen and is at: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/CiviCRM+v2.0

If you are interested in working on this for 2.0, please contact us on IRC

Obviously I like the feature idea http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,1565.0.html

But I'm not so sure about automatically populating the contact info unless their are some restrictions. Definitely not in the billing field.(just because I buy your tik once doesn't mean I want to be responsible for future purchases) A check box to say which person(s) to do it for, Maybe default it to on if the family name is the same(and optionally add to household)

A max number of tickets per sale/transaction. And if we are adding full access to the contact system to collect the data. why not allow the purchaser to buy tiks for others(full gifting) and not get one for themselves. (ex. mom/dad buying tiks for their kids to a concert/seminar, while they stay at home for a quiet evening :) )

I understand its to late for 2.0 but might as well get my ideas into the discussion for later.
