Smarty Issues

I installed CiviCRM with no issues but on the Home page I get these error messages.

Would appear to me to be a Linux file permissions issue. I would ask your web host if they can adjust that for you if you don't know how yourself.

I have changed the permissions to 777 for that folder and contents, but am still getting the same error messages.

I would recommend 755 not 777, but anyhow if that didn't work, try applying the same to folders higher up in the hierarchy. Sometimes that is also necessary.

The files and folders in the higher levels are already set to 755.

I bet it's a open basedir issue. Note that your templates start with

/home/52716/domains/fismc.com/...

whereas your code starts with:

/nfs/c03/h01/mnt/52716/domains/fismc.com/...

Seems these are different directories...

I add this to .htaccess:

php_value open_basedir /nfs:/tmp:/usr/local:/etc/apache2/gs-bin:/home/52716/domains/ourdomain.com/html/:/home/52716/data/tmp/

.htaccess files is located here:
/domains/fismc.com/html

It still doesn't work.

The site is hosted with MediaTemple. I have spoken to them a number of times, but don't know what to do next.

Eileen, you have the job of our new PR team. ;)

I did have one more idea for voicebox. Now that you have changed a few settings, perhaps try removing all files from inside of templates_c. That's always safe to do.

The other idea actually would be to manually adjust sites/default/civicrm.settings.php and set your directories there to match the error messages, regarding the location of the code. That might help.
