Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted

When an end-user makes a contribution, after the confirmation screen they see the following in their browser:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 491520 bytes) in /home/spuccorg/public_html/media/civicrm/templates_c/en_US/%%15/156/15679FBF%%RecieptMessage.tpl.php on line 66

The URL is:
https://www.mysite.org/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/contribute/transact

I am running:
Joomla 1.0.13
CiviCRM 1.8
PHP version 5.2.5
MySQL version 5.0.37-standard-log

Any help is appreciated,

You need to increase your memory_limit.

I'm having the same issue on drupal- can you tell me how you fixed this?
